3 shots. That's all he'd give me but I count it as success. Those eyes and that smirk give a glimpse into the character bound up in that little boy...who couldn't love him?!

Day 47
Oh, what you don't see is Thing 2's much tattered and loved blanket sliding between his fingers.
THAT face is a dead give away.
Enjoy it, baby boy! Mommy loves you.
Day 45
I'm currently working on processing this photo, but for now here is a new favorite of Thing 1-
no wonder the girls all stop to look now.
Remember this girls, he'll always be my first baby!

Day 42
Snow pretty, but the grilled burgers will have to wait a little longer.
This season we're ahead of our snowfall average by almost a foot already.
Day 41
A couple of rings, a couple of hearts in love, a couple decades passed by...
A couple richly blessed by the Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Day 40
No editing here, but I love the smell of a new box of Crayola crayons.
It's a great way to pass a cold winter day.

Day 25
I never look forward to my husband going to Chicago,
but mmmmmmmm, Garrett's Carmel-buttered Popcorn!

Day 24
A long road back and forth to Mom and Dad's.
Today made heats number five and six in the last week.
Today's tunes made it bearable.
Thank you ipod.
Thankful (and totally worth it) to see my family.

Day 17
So the assignment was self-portraits. You should see the out-takes!
I love how this angle hides a bunch of my flaws and highlights my eyes. I like my eyes. ;)
Day 16
Chillaxin' at the hotel. He's growing up.
(but I'm not allowed to point out the real beginnings of a moustache-shhh!)
Day 15
A Splishin' and a slpashin'
In Lynchburg for the weekend visiting the Weeks and Grandma and Pop.
What a blast!

Day 10
Thing 1-He's got so much going for him. Luke 2:52 is my prayer for him; as Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature and in favor with God and man, so may he.

Day 9
Beware! Ninja in the making. Thing 2 (Yes, there is a Thing 1, I'll get to him soon!) announced that HE is going to be a REAL Ninja when he grows up. Go get 'em, kid!

Day 8
Finally figuring out M mode. A quick snapshot of Thing 2 being silly wearing Thing 1's hat sideways.

Day 6
Thing 2; fighting his first cold but cute as ever. Me; learning to shoot in full manual and forgot to change my white balance when I went outside to shoot. Shoot!

Day 4
A wonderful time at the library today with my youngest son. I could spend all day there several times a week. If only! I love seeing Thing 2's imagination come to life as we peruse the shelves of books and make the puppets come alive. Today's choices:

Day 3
This is the year that my boys change. A lot. Thing 1 turns 16, drives and leaves very little, if any, of little boy left behind as he presses toward adulthood. He's one great young man. This mom couldn't be more thankful or proud. Thing 2 turns six this year. He's going on 26 but that doesn't take away from the abundance of childlike-wonder he shares with me daily. When a boy turns five, all things baby are jettisoned on the wayside as it's full steam ahead to growing up. Slow down, guys. I wish I could freeze time.

Day 2
Met with a former student and friend at the church where she'll be married. I learned a lesson in photography: don't forget to change the white balance setting. I think I should try out RAW settings, too. I'll keep learning and practicing with my new camera until her wedding day comes. It's not easy exiting a comfort zone in hopes of greater things!
